1. the state or condition of being quiet, peaceful, calm, or tranquil.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in a place where I can be in a state of quietude. I used to go to the country more often. I don’t know what happen.

Maybe I got busy.

Avoiding.

Sometimes I fear the silence.

I remember when I was a child, my dad didn’t speak much. Sometimes we could go on for days with him not speaking to me. It seems that he just didn’t have anything to say. It was after my mother left us.

My mother. At one point she just stopped. Stopped doing, moving, talking, thinking.

Sometimes I fear the silence.

I can still hear the screams, the punches, the stuff breaking.

I want to go to a quiet place and put all that to rest.

My parents are dead. May they finally rest in peace. In a state of quietude.

With great respect and love!

A.
